MONACO

Monaco / 18th August 2001 / Per

Onwards again, this time to the millionaire’s playground, Monaco.  NEVER  have I seen boats of this size.  The masts on the sail boats don’t have anchor lights on top of the masts but instead red flashing lights to warn off the helicopters that are always buzzing around here, and also light airplanes (this is not a lie!)   Here we saw for the thrid time now, the ship LADY MOURA which is as big as the Gozo ferryboat, but so elegant and beautiful.  I can’t even begin describing her … but you shall have one small detail. …. Ca. 2 metres above the waterline a 10 metre long door can open.  When this door opens a glass terrace slides out where the owner can sit and drink his morning coffee.   She does not have a rubber dinghy to transport guests to and from the boat, but instead a helicopter, and should they prefer to sail into harbour then they also have a 40 ft. Speedboat (Cigarette) which also is let out from another opening in the middle of the ship.

At this point Mike gave up counting Porches and Ferraris, and when he saw three open top Rolls Royces he also stopped counting those!   BUT our little SUNRAY was in the same harbour as all these majestic yachts – who would believe it ??

Italy is even better and with totally different adventures …. So keep on reading …….
